What this site does not collect

This site uses no cookies, employs no audience analytics tools, displays no advertising, embeds no third-party trackers and has no registration or authentication system. No identifier is written to your browser for tracking purposes, and no browsing information is sold, shared or cross-referenced with other databases.

For that reason the site displays no cookie consent notice: there are no cookies to consent to.

Accessibility features (local storage)

The accessibility features panel — text size, spacing, reading guide, link underlining, enlarged cursor, hiding images, pausing animations, themes and colour modes — keeps the options you choose exclusively in your browser, using local storage. This is strictly functional storage: the preferences contain no personal data, are never transmitted to the server, and can be removed at any time using the panel’s own "Restore defaults" button or by clearing your browsing data.

Feedback form

The site has two forms — feedback and collaboration — and they are the only points at which data can be provided. The feedback form processes: the message written, the page it refers to (when given) and the email address for a reply (an optional field). This data is transmitted by email to the project team and used exclusively to read, check and reply to the report — particularly reports of accessibility barriers, which guide revisions of the site.

Feedback data is not published, is not shared with third parties and is not used for any other purpose. Messages are kept only for as long as is needed to handle the report, and can be deleted at the data subject’s request, made through the form itself.

Feedback may be sent anonymously: no name is asked for and the email is optional. We recommend not including sensitive personal data (such as health information) in the message beyond what is strictly necessary to the report.

Collaboration form

The collaboration form is for those who wish to take part in producing the materials or in other strands of the project. It processes: the name and email address (both required, since without contact details there is no way to answer a proposal), the affiliation or institution (an optional field), the forms of collaboration ticked, and the written description of the proposal. Unlike feedback, this form does not allow anonymous submission — that is why the two fields are required.

This data is transmitted by email to the project team and used exclusively to assess and reply to the collaboration proposal. It is not published, not shared with third parties, does not feed any mailing list, and is not used for any other purpose. It is kept for as long as contact about the proposal lasts, and can be deleted at the data subject’s request.

We recommend not including sensitive personal data in the description of the proposal beyond what is strictly necessary.

Technical server logs

As happens with practically all web hosting, the provider hosting this site keeps technical access logs (for example: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested and browser identification). These logs are generated by the hosting infrastructure for security, diagnostics and abuse prevention, are restricted-access, and are discarded within the periods the provider operates. The project team does not use them to identify visitors.

Third-party services: VLibras

To offer automatic translation of the content into Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), the Portuguese pages load VLibras, a free, official public tool of the Brazilian federal government. VLibras is not loaded on the English or Spanish versions, and no request goes to its servers from them. When you visit a page in Portuguese, your browser requests the VLibras files directly from the vlibras.gov.br servers — a request that, like any web access, reveals your IP address to that service. The data processing carried out by VLibras is governed by that service’s own policies. Blocking this feature with a browser extension does not impair the rest of the site.

Rights of the data subject

Under article 18 of the LGPD, the subject of personal data may request at any time: confirmation that processing exists; access to the data; correction of incomplete, inaccurate or out-of-date data; and deletion of the data processed. In the context of this site, those requests apply in practice to the messages sent through the feedback and collaboration forms — the only personal data the team manages.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised to reflect changes to the site — for example, the publication of new materials for download. The date of the last update, given at the start of the document, records the version in force. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
