Privacy and Terms
This document brings together the Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use, a description of the technology used to build this site — including its accessibility statement — and answers to the most frequent questions.
These Terms of Use set out the conditions for accessing and using this site and its content. By browsing the site, the user acknowledges these conditions. The site is free of charge, educational and academic in purpose, and does not sell products or services.

Object and purpose
The site presents the set of 12 recommendations for creating and using educational materials for the inclusion of people with visual impairments in higher education, the outcome of an undergraduate final project defended in 2024 on the Design programme at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR), and of a scientific article derived from it. Its purpose is to disseminate knowledge of public interest about accessibility and inclusive education.
The content is informative and advisory in nature. The recommendations support decisions by institutions, teachers and professionals, but applying them does not replace the legislation in force — such as Brazil’s Inclusion Act (Lei nº 13.146/2015) — nor the technical standards applicable to each context, and it does not in itself ensure legal or regulatory compliance.
Intellectual property and citation
The content of the 12 recommendations, the texts, the examples and the organisation of this site are original works by Thalia Rauane de Oliveira and Thayla Milla Andrade Santos, developed under the supervision of Marina Ramos Pezzini at UTFPR. Reproduction for educational, academic and institutional purposes is permitted and encouraged, provided it is accompanied by proper attribution of authorship and is not for commercial purposes.
When reproducing the 12 recommendations, the text must be transcribed faithfully, without paraphrases that change its meaning — a condition that preserves the result verified by the research. Note that the canonical text is the Portuguese one; the English and Spanish versions on this site are faithful working translations. The full reference for citation, in the Brazilian ABNT standard, is available on the Materials page.
Use of the Assistant
The Assistant page offers a prompt — a text of instructions — to be copied and used in third-party artificial intelligence services, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini. Those services are not operated, maintained or supervised by this project: their use is governed by the terms and policies of each platform, and any costs, limits or age requirements are set by them.
Responses generated by language models may contain errors or inaccuracies. The prompt instructs the assistant to ground every suggestion in the corresponding recommendation, but the final check should be made against the canonical text published on this site, which prevails over any generated response.
Availability and limits of liability
The project team uses its best efforts to keep the site available, up to date and free of errors, but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation — outages may result from maintenance, infrastructure failures or third-party services (such as the hosting and VLibras).
Use of the information on this site is the responsibility of whoever applies it. Under no circumstances will the project team or UTFPR be liable for damages arising from decisions taken solely on the basis of the content published here, without checking the standards and legislation applicable to each case.
Governing law
These Terms of Use are governed by Brazilian law, in particular the Brazilian Civil Rights Framework for the Internet (Lei nº 12.965/2014), the General Personal Data Protection Law (Lei nº 13.709/2018) and the Copyright Act (Lei nº 9.610/1998).
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the site evolves. The date of the last update, given at the start of the document, records the version in force.
